One thing i was certain about was that i didn't want anything 'italic'. That definitely wasn't me, whatever that was! Instead of using something so bland as my own hand-writing, i decided that to make it truly personal, as i struggled trying to associate myself with a typeface i was happy with, i new it had to be in my own hand in some way.

I really enjoy handmade typography, just looking at it seems to make me happier, and i always want to try it out for myself. So i'd found the factor that made it personal to me, the hand-drawn element was inspirational to me, thats where I'm really passionate. After this it didn't matter what the font was really.
The font i chose in the end was called 'Exile.' I don't think its name has any association to me, I'm not trying to be all deep and brooding. It had curved bits and was strong looking. I think that was enough.
For some reason i always seem to set myself tasks that seem great at first, but i can never fully envisage how they're going to be completed, or the time it will take. I drew out all the individual letters, missing some out because i wanted to improvise with some of the letterforms, making it more my own. I started to write out my paragraph in this hand-drawn font, but then changed my mind as it would have taken hours! I took the easy way out, i scanned it into the computer and edited and arranged it that way. It still took me a while because I'm so computer illiterate, but i thought the final outcome was striking, yet simple enough because of what i'd written.
